30th October - Sightings

Dosthill - 3+ Short-Eared Owls hunting bunds today. Occassionally visiting RSPB reserve. (G Williams, TP, J Allen, S Cawthray et al)
RSPB (Bassett South) - 6+ Little Egret, 2 Dunlin (TP, J Allen, S Cawthray)
RSPB (Bassett North) - Stonechat(f) by bench. Golden Plover (per S Cawthray et al)

  1. Is there a definition/location anywhere for Bassett North And Bassett South - or are these secret to keep outsiders just that?

    If it's Middleton RSPB then say so.

  2. Please see the Tame Valley Map linked on right. The areas of the RSPB reserve are split here to assist the two county recorders as the boundary line crosses the reserve.

    The tone of your comment is unnecessary.

  3. Also note the names used here are those traditionally used by most local birders. these were in place a long time before the RSPB took over part of the site. All sites that are part of the RSPB reserve are prefaced with "RSPB".
