Monday April 10th
Three Yellow Wagtails on the meadow by Church. 500 Sand Martins and 20 Swallows at Hemlingford.
Four Black-tailed Godwits flew over seemingly without pausing (J&J Morris). Still a Common Snipe present.
Staffs: The above group of four Black-tailed Godwits were seen at Jubilee Wetlands later (Mark Priest).
Six Common Terns late afternoon (Kevin Whiston et al).
West Mids: Four Wheatears by the pylon on Wishaw Lane (Carl Hiles).
Wheatears are present in good numbers at present but as usual the best chance of finding a few is to aim for higher ground and check ploughed potato fields or set a side stubbly fields. The small paddocks and sheep pasture which circle Shustoke Res will also hold birds.
